To ensure a streamlined review and editorial process, all authors must adhere to the following formatting and submission guidelines based on the IOP Publishing standards. Please note that the committee requires a specific file format for all submissions.

Mandatory File Format and Submission Mechanism

  • Strict File Format: All abstracts and full papers mustbe prepared and submitted exclusively in Microsoft Word format (.docx). Submissions in PDF, LaTeX, or other file types will not be accepted.
  • Submission Portal: Authors can upload their manuscript files directly through the official ICSHA 2026 Registration Google Form managed by the central committee.
  • Upload Flexibility: Uploading your abstract or full paper is optional at the exact time of initial registration. If your manuscript is not yet finalized when registering, you may submit the registration form first and upload your .docx file(s) via email at a later date, provided it is before the final submission deadline.

Paper Format and Layout

  • Paper Size: European A4.
  • Margins: 4.0 cm (top), 2.5 cm (left and right), and 2.7 cm (bottom).
  • Pagination: Do not include page numbers, headers, or footers within the document.
  • Spacing: Text must be single-spaced, not double-spaced.
  • Orientation: All pages must be in portrait orientation (any landscape figures or tables should be rotated).

Title, Abstract, and Content Structure

  • Title and Authors: The paper must clearly state the author name(s) and full affiliation(s), including the country.
  • Abstract Formatting: All articles must contain an abstract. The abstract text must be indented 25 mm from the left margin. Leave a 10 mm space after the abstract before beginning the main text on the same page.
  • Figures and Tables: Must be legible, numbered in sequential order, and placed directly within the text (do not collect them at the end of the document).
  • Equations: Displayed equations must follow a sequential numerical naming convention (e.g., (1), (2), (3) or (1.1), (1.2)) without duplication or missing numbers.
  • Inclusive Language: Papers must use inclusive language in accordance with industry-wide scholarly communication guidelines.

Reference Styling

  • System: Conference papers must use either the Harvard or Vancouver reference systems.
  • Accuracy: Ensure all references listed at the end are cited within the text, and every in-text citation has a corresponding reference.
  • Links: Where possible, include a permanent or persistent web link, such as a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). For journal articles with a DOI, link it directly to the volume and article number/page reference.
